Cultivating mushrooms on logs is an ancient cultivation method, dating back as the earliest recorded way to grow mushrooms. Log cultivation is fascinating and easy, but requires patience ad the utmost attention to detail. Growing on logs is one of the closest methods to the way mushrooms grow in nature, so one must apply some basic knowledge of ecology and natural systems to be successful. Mushroom logs are beautiful, mysterious, and can be integrated into any mushroom-inspired landscape project with proper planning. With sufficient care, mushroom logs can fruit for up to 6 years or more!
After 7 years teaching within his local community about the wonders of mushrooms, Zach Hedstrom, founder and owner of Boulder Mushroom, decided it was time to fill the needed role of a professional quality mycology center. Boulder Mushroom has dedicated its mission to the development of prolific mushroom strains which are adapted to locally available substrate materials, while also cultivating the highest quality culinary and medicinal mushrooms for our growing community.
