BeeChicas: Bumble Bees - Flying Pandas of the Insect World

  • What: Learn about the "flying pandas" of the insect world! Colorado is home to 25 different bumble bee species. Join the BeeChicas to hear about their life cycles and behaviors and learn some tips on how you can identifiy them. We'll make a handy bumble bee guide zine and then head to the Native Plant Garden for a bumble bee search. Get inspired to create a zine of your own!

  • Details:

    • The workshop starts in the Boulder Creek Room (closest to the Arapahoe entrance). After crafting your bumble bee guide zine, and weather permitting, we'll move outdoors in the Native Plant Garden at the Main Library. Please bring a water bottle, sun hat and other resources to make yourselves comfortable to be outdoors.

    • Adult helper required for children under 12.

    • Please register each person attending the event.

    • Visit BeeChicas website for more projects, recipes and resources.

  • When: Wednesday, August 23rd; 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
