Watershed Health & Climate Preparedness

The Boulder Watershed Collective is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, stakeholder-driven organization established to address forested watershed health, resiliency, and stewardship. Our mission is to cultivate partnerships, promote community stewardship, and revitalize social and ecological systems within the Boulder Creek Watershed and beyond.

The Boulder Watershed Collective, in its original structure as the Fourmile Watershed Coalition, has proudly provided quite a bit of support and resiliency work for the watershed communities post-flood. With more than $7 million in grant funds, we have restored more than 13,000 linear feet of stream, planted more than 24,000 plants and tree seedlings, and removed more than 1,800 cubic yards of mine tailings from vulnerable stream-adjacent areas.

We connect with communities today to help leverage the momentum already catalyzed within our collectives. We provide education and engagement opportunities in our Climate, Forest, and Watershed programs, and facilitate on-the-ground forest watershed mitigation and restoration projects.

As our climate changes, populations grow, and forests shift, it is crucial that we work together to respond with adaptive strategies within the Boulder watershed.

Our values:

  • Foster trusted relationships

  • Empower environmental stewardship

  • Cultivate collaboration

  • Promote intersectional environmentalism

  • Embody integrity, inspire action
