What are Tree Tender Training Tuesdays?
Tree Tenders are given the tools to plant and care for trees in their own communities. The specialized trainings involve learning all about tree identification, tree biology, debunking common tree myths, tree planting and irrigation, tree care and pruning, and community organizing in this multi-day workshop hosted by the PLAY Boulder Foundation's Tree Trust.
You will be joining a network of tree lovers with the goal of growing the urban tree canopy in the City of Boulder. Plus, all Tree Tenders will receive a tee shirt, field notebook, badge, and certificate, and at the end of the third day, everyone will help plant a tree!

What is the PLAY Boulder Foundation’s Tree Trust?
The Tree Trust is a program led by the PLAY Boulder Foundation to work with community members to support trees in Boulder and promote a healthy urban canopy for years to come. The Tree Trust’s goal is to provide citizens with resources to care for their trees, tools to recognize and prevent developing diseases in the area, and the aid to retain and expand a sustainable urban canopy.
Plans are underway to help expand and sustain Boulder’s urban canopy by forming new community partnerships with Cool Boulder and Tree-Plenish. The expansion and preservation of our community’s tree canopy will provide cooling and resilience benefits for years to come. Help out and get involved by becoming a trained Tree Tender in March, or participate in the many tree planting opportunities that will be available in April!
