Wildlands Restoration Volunteers: Habitats - Summit Lake Alpine Tundra (optional camping)

  • What: Restore alpine tundra on a signature WRV project! Summit Lake is located alongside the highest paved road in America, just below the summit of 14,265-foot Mount Evans. Due to the popularity of this area, the park has been heavily impacted. Volunteers will restore and protect the fragile alpine tundra, including planting seedlings grown from seed collected by WRV volunteers on previous projects at this high-alpine site. WRV has been working in this majestic area for over a decade with amazing results. Great views and wildlife sightings are practically guaranteed!

    • Optional camping is available on Friday night for those who would like, however this is unsupported camping and you must bring your own meals.
