What: Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day at Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat for an exciting day dedicated to the incredible journeys of migratory birds and the importance of bird conservation. This free, family-friendly event is designed to connect you with nature, inspire conservation efforts, and provide actionable ways to create bird-friendly communities.

Walden Pond Event Highlights:

  • Boulder’s Official Bird City Recognition: Celebrate Boulder being recognized as an official Bird City by the Bird City Network in a special ceremony.

  • Live Bird-of-Prey Showcase: Get an up-close look at some of nature’s most impressive predators.

  • Guided Bird Walks: Explore the habitat with expert guides (available in English and Spanish).

  • Family-Friendly Activities: Bird identification games and hands-on activities for all ages.

  • Educational Stations: Visit booths hosted by organizations like the Front Range Birding & Optics, Butterfly Pavilion, Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Boulder Audubon Society, Harlequin’s Gardens, and the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation.

This year’s theme, “Shared Spaces: Building Bird-Friendly Cities and Communities,” focuses on actionable steps we can take to protect birds, including sustainable urban planning, reducing pollution, preventing window collisions, and conserving habitats.
