What: Spring is the perfect time to nurture young trees and plan for their long-term health. Whether you're planting new trees or tending to the ones you have, this workshop will equip you with the skills to:
Select and plant fruit trees for optimal growth
Meet your trees’ nutritional needs and manage water efficiently
Build resilience to pests and diseases
Create a welcoming environment for beneficial insects
You’ll also explore how fruit trees contribute to our community: offering forage for pollinators, habitat for wildlife, cooling local microclimates, and more! Plus, learn tips on being a good neighbor to local wildlife (like our fruit-loving black bears).
Looking to add a fruit tree to your yard? Our friends at Benevolence Orchard will have a variety of trees for sale at the event! Choose from 10+ types, all carefully grafted in spring 2024 and sold in easy-to-handle 2-gallon pots. If you’re on the lookout for something special, they’ll have the rare Colorado Orange apple tree available!
