Consume Responsibly

Whenever possible it’s important we work to reduce waste and consume responsibly by shopping local, buying used, and sharing, borrowing/lending, and reusing what we have.

Buying from local farmers who are investing in our soils, or even growing your own organic food, is a wonderful way to support nature-based climate solutions.

  • Shop at Boulder’s Farmers market, held on Wednesdays and Saturdays during growing season at 13th St and Canyon Blvd! SNAP participants can use “double-up” benefits at the farmers market.

  • Visit local farms and farm stands. Many of our partners are farmers who produce some amazing food! SNAP participants can use double-up bucks at our partners farm stands - Jack’s Solar Garden in Longmont and Growing Gardens in Boulder.

  • Frequent Boulder businesses that participate in Zero Foodprint’s program! These businesses are committed to donating 1% of sales to support local regenerative farming. You can find a list of participating businesses here

  • Look for products with the new “Bee Better” certification, the only third-party pollinator certification accepted by all retailers, developed by our partner Xerces Society.
